Liking or loving someone who suffers with a psychiatric disorder can be challenging. Over the years we've had family members and friends of patients ask how can they tell which behavior is part of the "disease" and which part is just the patient being "unreasonable." Having a good understanding of things such as the cause, symptoms, triggers and treatment plans of mental illnesses is a great place to start to be able to provide support to your loved one.
Sessions are conducted virtually. Convenient scheduling available and participants can log in from multiple locations, great for including family and friends who don't live nearby.
Many people get psychiatry (medical diagnosing/medication) confused with counseling (coping mechanisms, accountability, "talking to someone"). We believe that optimum care can be achieved when both avenues of care are utilized.
Although our providers with PsychMYway do not provide counseling, we have qualified professional counselors that we can recommend!
